Mid-Month Resale Housing Statistics

 

TORONTO, September  2010

 

 

 TREBreported 2,623 MLS®  sales (MLS®) during the first half of September 2010. A 22 per cent decrease compared to the 3,361 in the same period of 2009. However the strength early in the year was sufficient to get year-to-date sales up to 65,455, a six per cent increase over 2009.

 

 

Average price for mid September  was $412,367 – up five per cent from the average of $393,818 recorded in the same period of 2009 and up from the $411,012 of August 2010.

 

May’s average price of $446,593 is this year’s peak. As unit sales fall, average price will inevitably follow. More of a correction than a bursting bubble
