Toronto, July 6, 2011 – Toronto Real Estate Board reported the third best June result on record, 10,230 sales, up 21 % over June 2010. The first half of 2011 saw a total of 48,189 sales, down 4.5 % compared to 2010.
Average price for June was $476,371, a 9.5 % increase over June 2010 and average price for the first six months was $467,169 up nearly 8% over 2010.
The shortage of listings is the main constriction in the market place leading to this rather large increase in price. We are still waiting for these strong price increases to tempt sellers into the marketplace and ease the competition between buyers for scarce listings.
