My colleagues have always been surprised that a bunch of Federal Lawyers would know anything about competition (actually being Government Employees that they would know anything at all much less about competition). We work in an industry that has an attrition rate approaching 90%. Of new people coming into our industry 80% do not renew their registration after 2 years and the other 10% are gone in a further 2 years. Does that sound like there is a shortage competition?
The Feds should perhaps try talking to the Oil Companies, Cable Companies, Cell Phone Service Providers, Banks or Insurance Companies where the public perception is that there is an obvious lack of competition or are their campaign contributions too generous or lobbyists too well funded?
